New Nowhere Boys, and girl, a hit with viewers
THE ABC's new Nowhere Boys, and girl, bring a successful new dynamic to the popular fantasy teen series.
The franchise wasn't screaming out for a reboot after just two seasons and a movie, but the cast change has allowed the series to move in a new direction while staying within the confines of Bremin, a seemingly normal suburban town that is actually a gateway to another universe.
By all accounts the new gang - Luke (Kamil Ellis), Jesse (Jordie Race-Coldrey), Heath (Joe Klocek), Ben (William McKenna) and Nicco (Luca Sardelis) - has been fully embraced by fans.
"We do bring something different to the last team. I hope we are as interesting to watch as they were," Sardelis tells APN's The Guide.
The 15-year-old Greek Australian actress doesn't feel like she's in a boys' club.
"We all get along so well," she says.
"We all make fun of each other and mess around... gender doesn't have any impact on the group."
Sardelis plays academic high achiever and soccer player Nicco, who the boys initially find bossy and controlling.
"The further it goes into the series you will see another side to her, that she can be a leader and be brave," she says.
"It takes a while for her to gain their trust."
Nowhere Boys: Two Moons Rising airs Fridays at 5.55pm on ABC ME.
