Mount Morgan teen has a plan of attack for the music world
JONATHON Stock's style isn't quite Gangnam but he's aiming to become the next Psy.
The Mount Morgan teenager is slowly making a name for himself in the digital world with a sweet sample of YouTube clips of him singing a few pop favourites.
He spoke with The Morning Bulletin this week about his plan to attack the music industry.
Just a tad nervous and excited, Jonathon is waiting anxiously to see if he has made it through to the X-Factor auditions rounds on the Channel 7 hit show.
He flew to Brisbane in December for the pre-audition stage where he performed twice in front of the executive producers.
He will hear from the producers about April if he makes it on to the show.
For now though he has his eyes set on Melbourne.
"My mentors have leaned me towards a bigger city to start in the industry," he said.
"I'll do what I can to make music
"When I get to Melbourne I'll be knocking on record labels doors, busking and will join the music society down there.
"The X-Factor executive producers were very poker faced about my audition and just said 'we'll get back to you'."
His most popular YouTube clips are Train's hit song Hey Soul Sister and Eric Clapton's Tears In Heaven.
Born and bred in Mount Morgan, on holiday in Cooee Bay, Jonathon started singing at nine.
Since then he has performed at community events, weddings and even in an opera.
"I'm a very dedicated artist and I believe in what I do."
