Australian patients wait too long to see doctor
ONE in five Australians believed they waited too long to see a doctor last year.
Productivity Commission research released this week showed 20% of Australians thought they had waited longer than they should have to see a GP.
One in every 20 said they delayed a visit or did not book one because of cost.
It also showed 85% of GP visits were bulk billed last year, despite concern in the sector of a long-term freeze on Medicare rebate rises.
