Crazed horse mutilator on the loose in Queensland

A FIVE year-old girl is coming to terms with the horrific reality of her horse being murdered and then cut apart at the joints during a disturbing crime at Coomera, on the Gold Coast.

Carolyn Jeffrey last saw her horse Angie alive on August 11.

Angie was a 21 year-old Arab Appaloosa cross and semi- retired.

Her only real exercise was when Carolyn's 5 year granddaughter came out to ride her.

Ms Jeffrey discovered the horse laying in a shallow dam on August 12 and it's understood she and her husband first thought mare's leg was broken.

However, closer inspection revealed a sickening fact - all four of the horse's legs had been severed around the knee and hock joints.

RSPCA Inspector Sommer Heath Crilley described the scene as "strange" and Dr Tim Hawthorne of Gold Coast Coast and Nerang Equine advised that the lack of blood suggested the perpetrator experience in the field of abattoir work, butchery or general hunting.

It's believed the horse was dead before it was butchered,

RSCPA Queensland says it has hit a brick wall in its investigation to uncover the culprit.

We were hoping the tests would give us a clue," Inspector Crilley said.

"But now we've hit a brick wall and we desperately need help from the public."
