Mundine turns on charm: ‘I kick back while women cook’
ANTHONY Mundine isn't going to sit back in the jungle and let Bernard Tomic steal his limelight.
After stating in an interview prior to entering the jungle for Channel 10's I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here that gay people are "confusing to society", the notoriously outspoken Mundine was quick to give fellow contestants an insight into his beliefs.
His first on-screen appearance saw him dangling above the ground inside of a net which a select group of contestants had to help him out of. Bet they're regretting that decision.
Once on the ground, the group marched back into camp where it took Mundine all of five seconds to not only offend the contestants, but a lot of viewers.
"I just kick back and relax while women cook and clean. That is my attitude," Mundine said.
Of course his remarks weren't met with open arms from the contestants with former model Simone Holtznagel biting back at "The Man".
"Did you just get out of that net from the 50's," Holtznagel said.
Mundine has made a life out of spruiking controversial headline after controversial headline with no topic off-limits.
And if the public wasn't already sick of him, they may well be after his time on the show comes to an end.
After winning his first fight in a little over three years only weeks ago, Mundine is back to proclaiming he's the greatest boxer to have ever stepped inside the ring.
It didn't take long for him to then turn his attention to Danny Green, a man who handed him his last defeat and who he has a 1-1 record against.
"He is arrogant," Mundine said.
"He should be thanking me for making him a millionaire. He should be thanking me."
While we skip over the irony of Mundine labelling another fighter arrogant, it seems the 42-year-old wasn't finished there.
"I don't know him personally, but my judgment of him and a lot of people know ... What I hear about him, he is a bit arrogant. I am a down-to-earth cat," Mundine added.
"I am the opposite to what they portray me to be. I give everybody time."
With Tomic seemingly ready to quit the show after only 48 hours, we can only hope the producers have Green waiting in the wings to be inserted into the bunk bed right alongside Mundine.
Making their next fight free-to-air only seems right, especially when nobody actually wants the rematch to take place.
Apart from Mundine, who just can't seem to let it go.
